A mere stone’s throw from the hustle an bustle of Old Town Scottsdale’s main drag, the brand new Canopy by Hilton Old Town is designed as a natural extension of Scottsdale’s historic arts district. Today, chic Southwest décor fused with Mid-Century Modern sophistication create an inviting and familiar welcome for guests both local and from around the world.
The warm feeling is had when you walk through the doors. From the entrance of the lobby, you’re greeted by this cozy lounge area – the perfect spot for planning the days ahead or grabbing a cocktail in the lobby. The seven-story, full-service hotel offers a variety of locally inspired amenities that create a lively and energetic space to work, rest and play.
So let’s talk about the food! With light and bright airy lighting and a cozy décor, you can expect an informal but vibrant ambience here – particularly on the weekends, where locals can really enjoy Cobre Kitchen + Cocktails- a new addition to Scottsdale’s dining scene. What a treat! The hotel’s signature restaurant located on the ground floor, is an American brasserie inspired by the Southwest and features thoughtfully curated small and shareable plates highlighting local flavors, while the craft cocktail program offers a modern, yet familiar twist to the area’s thriving cocktail scene. I highly suggest the tortilla soup, short rib sandwich, chopped salad, and pan seared salmon!
After dinner, head to the Outrider Rooftop Lounge, the newest rooftop pool and bar perched atop the hotel’s seventh floor. The sophisticated, laid-back ambiance with unrivaled views of the iconic Camelback Mountain is open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a selection of posh plates and innovative, locally inspired cocktails. On the day we visited, there was an extreme chill in the air but that didn’t stop the party in the hot tub so pack a suit no matter what the forecast says!
Feeling particularly full of delicious food and cocktails, it was time to retire to our room on the 4th floor. With a great view of Camelback Mountain, the room featured soft colors and furnishings, a sumptuous king size beds, plush bathrobes and slippers – and even a charming pair of cozy socks to keep you snug at night – they really have thought of it all here! Not to mention, the safely and sanitation protocols they have in place. We had a certified sticker on the door letting us know our room was safe and ready for our arrival.
The next morning, after a visit to Cobre for breakfast for a tasty waffle and avocado toast we were ready to step outside to explore the rest of Old Town just a stones throw away. If you’re looking for a staycation in the heart of our city or have friends or family coming to town and want to experience all that Scottsdale has to offer, a stay at the Canopy by Hilton Old Town must be on your radar!
