At Home With Advantage Tutoring

August 22, 2020

We all know it’s a crazy time in the world right now and with school back in session, I was left with only a few options to try and make this whole digital kindergarten at home work. So I began the quest to find someone that could help facilitate the real time learning while keeping my sanity since we were moving and starting school all in the same week.

What started off as a quick google search ended up in a few phone interviews with various tutors and companies that provide in home help, but none of them seemed like the right fit for our family. That’s when I was scrolling Instagram one day (shocker) and saw Advantage Tutoring pop up. I recognized the logo and after digging deeper into what they offer and what they stand for, I quickly reached out to them and next thing you know I was on the phone chatting with Advantage owner, Jessi all about what we were looking for to help JZ succeed at online school. We opted to have a tutor come a few days a week for a couple hours each day which works out great, because JZ can knock his work out in that short time which he prefers to do!

What set Advantage apart was the personalized approach. Jessi finds the ideal tutor to partner your child with based on personality and teaching style to match your child’s preferences. For JZ, this was someone that was fun, outgoing, creative, and one who thinks outside of the box to get the lessons across (because let’s face it, JZ is not the kid that will sit in front of the computer with headphones and follow along) Dani, our tutor from Advantage gives him the flexibility he needs but also finds creative ways to get him to engage with the lessons. He may not like to unmute himself and participate with the class (he get’s very overwhelmed) but Dani has him participate with her and ensures he is staying on track academically.

The other thing about Advantage that I really like is the flexibility: They offer in-home, in-office, on campus, coffee shop, FaceTime, Zoom, Skype….you name it… sessions. We chose to have Dani come to our house, but I’m considering trying the in office experience to see if that helps our wild man focus because let’s face it, being at home with your Nintendo Switch and Legos is totally distracting! They also offer learning pods at their office which can be great for a group of 3-4 kids in the same grade.
If you’re a parent dealing with the digital school year (or even in person school!) I highly recommend scheduling a call with Jessi at Advantage Tutoring to keep you kiddos on track. You will love the personalized approach to learning and  your kids will meet their academic goals! www.advantagetutoringaz.com
