Get ready to be spooked! The 2019 Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival is flying to Salt River Fields of Talking Stick this weekend, Yes, October 25th & October 26th!
From 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM, over 20 Hot Air Balloons will be passing out over 4,000 pounds of candy to trick-or-treaters so get your costume ready because I can speak from personal experience, this event is the perfect way to kick off Halloween week! Reminder: costumes aren’t just for kids. I distinctly remember last year there were tons of adults in full head to toe costumes, so don’t be shy- dust off your favorite costume and rock it this Friday or Saturday night!
The event will feature live music, food and beverages, a Kids Zone, vendor markets, tethered balloon rides, a haunted Spooky trail, fireworks, and much more. Want an insider tip? Go early! The lines can for candy and parking can get pretty long so I suggest being one of the first to arrive- plus you get to see many of the balloons inflate which was awesome to see so up close.
Get more bang for your buck out of your kids’ expensive Halloween costumes by letting them show-off in the nightly costume contests and vie for a variety of prizes. More than 20 majestic hot air balloons illuminate the sky as they participate in the world’s longest continuous glow at over 3 hours, as well as offering candy stations serving up more than 4,000 pounds of candy. It’s a great chance to practice trick or treating before Thursday night.
If you’re not scared of heights, you can ride a hot air balloon tethered to the ground and see the entire festival laid out before you- With over 40 games and attractions, including inflatable bounce houses, slides, and an obstacle course, there is no doubt that this event will entertain even the scariest of families.
If you want to increase the spook factor, dare to stroll the Spook Trail, a fan favorite manned by local high school students and featuring surprises around every corner. Literally, I may have screamed a few times last year. You can shop the Spooktacular Marketplace for arts, crafts and merchandise from local shops, or sip and savor beverages and holiday-themed foods from dozens of on-site vendors.
At the end of each night, sit back and enjoy the fireworks! Beginning at 9 pm each night, families can marvel at this fireworks spectacular!
Ok, ready for the BEST part? I’m giving away a family four pack of tickets on my social media tomorrow (Tuesday 10/22) so be sure to check out my story starting tomorrow morning for your chance to win!
