So I did a little something called iCryo and lived to talk about it! In fact, I really enjoyed this procedure that I knew nothing about before stepping into the Michele’s boutique cryo studio tucked away on the popular Shea and Scottsdale corner. For starters, I knew cryo has gained popularity over the years- but I didn’t understand just how much it can help with chronic pain, inflammation, energy, and aesthetics!
Here’s the very scientific explanation about the body contouring that Michele does using cryo technology: The body contouring treatments last for roughly 30 minutes and are done manually employing a massage technique. The session begins with 2 minutes of heat and then a prolonged period of cold (22-26 minutes) and then back to heat for another 2-3 minutes. The purpose of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is known as the phenomenon of apoptosis. This phenomenon is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 12 and 17 C which causes these cells to die. The cells are then naturally passed through the body’s lymphatic system and excreted through sweat and urine.
Got that? Ok, so basically she is melting the fat away! Cool right?
My experience wasn’t painful at all- in fact it was quite relaxing since her studio is very zen and chill (literally!) After a few minutes of getting used to the cold wand on my face- the area truly becomes numb and it’s smooth sailing after that. The whole thing took about 40 minutes and I could even see a slight improvement of my skin right away. I need to get back for another treatment to take full advantage of what Michele offers, but I wanted to tell ya’ll about it so you can get started with me! You can cryo any part of your body that has access fat and Michele can help determine what areas will respond best to her machine.
These aren’t me but check out the pictures of some of her clients below that I was SO impressed with! (I’ll post a few of my before/afters when I do another session!)
