OK, if you’re looking for the perfect escape that is surprisingly family friendly, look no further than the Four Seasons at Troon. We checked in for a 24 hour stay and let me tell you- I felt SO rejuvenated and relaxed after just 1 day at this property. The spa is amazing and features custom aromatherapy and the food is unbelievable. Even if you don’t stay overnight, a trip to Talevera for dinner or Proof for brunch should absolutely be added to your “To-Do List” this summer.
The resort focuses on creating impressions that will stay with guests for a lifetime. “The story of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which opened its first hotel in 1961, is a tale of continual innovation, remarkable expansion and a single-minded dedication to the highest of standards.” And that could not be more true.
I mentioned the food is highlight and I’m not kidding. Talevera has won numerous awards for their cuisine and James Beard nominated chef, Chef Sam whips up creative southwest inspired recipes. My food recommendations include the Pan Con Tomate, Paella, Gambas Al Ajillo, and any of the cocktails that Laura the fabulous mixologist at the property mixes up. (tip: Her specialty is gin!) Pause for 1 second because we need to talk about the above mentioned Pan Con Tomate. This simple dish is literally fresh tomato on Noble bread and while we were there I saw every table order it. It’s honestly one of the BEST things I’ve ever tasted and I would gladly make the 30 min drive from my house for this single dish alone.
For weekend brunch, you can dine from a fantastic buffet or order a la carte. The smoked salmon avocado toast, Hawaiian bread pudding French toast (OMG!), and matcha smoothie bowl. Also, the fresh juice flight is a great way to start your day.
The adobe casitas are surrounded by desert wildlife, dramatic valleys, and the iconic views of Pinnacle Peak, truly one of the BEST views of the valley. The hills surrounding the resort features two world-class golf courses, a terrain fit for adventures on horseback, ATV, Jeep or Hummer, and the perfect location for a hot air balloon trip above the desert if you’re feeling adventurous. If you are more of an indoor person like me, you can enjoy the pools and if the kids are with you- there is a shallow splash pool for the little ones. Speaking of kids, the kids club at Four Seasons is fabulous! I was shocked to see how family friendly the resort is. Of course it make the perfect romantic escape as well.
One tip I can offer- watch for wildlife! We actually saw a bobcat fight right outside of our room!
No matter what your perfect staycation looks like, Four Seasons is bound to exceed your expectations this summer (and beyond!)
