As we come to the end of National Hamburger Month, we have arrived at the crowing event of all-things-burger, National Hamburger Day. Not many foods can claim both an official month and an official day within that month, but then again, not many foods are as beloved in these United States as the humble hamburger.
Did you know?
National Burger Day is a day of appreciation for hamburgers. The term hamburger is derived from the city of Hamburg, Germany, where beef from Hamburg cows was minced and formed into patties to make Hamburg steaks. The origin of the hamburger in the United States remains debated, although most claim that the hamburger originated between 1880 and 1900. Since then, this beef patty in a bun has become a global staple of the fast-food diet and the backyard cookout. In recent years, these traditional beef patties have been transformed to include other meat and vegetarian options such as, bison, ostrich, deer, chicken, turkey, veggies, tofu and bean patties.
Yes, there are a TON of options in town to get your grease on but my pick for celebrating such a special day is Lush Burger located just off of Pima and the 101 where they offer premium burgers in a hip environment. The patio is great for kids and features comfortable couches and outdoor games like giant Jenga and cornhole. Now lets talk about the burgers because that’s what today is all about, right?
Burgers form the core of the menu, but there are options if you’re in the mood for salads, flat breads, and various sandwiches. By the way- the milkshakes are amazing, I highly recommend the Oreo shake! Back to burgers…there are monthly featured burgers such as the Roadhouse, with caramelized onions, bacon, Wisconsin Gruyere cheese, onion straws and garlic mayo on a brioche bun like I had the day we visited. Check out these crazy options from LUSH!
So are you ready to celebrate National Burger Day at LUSH?
I thought so. Check out the rest of the menu here and send me note or drop a comment to let me know what your favorite LUSh burger is! I’m always up to try something new!
