Looking for a weekend getaway in the woods? Timberloft, the beautiful luxury lodge home located in Flagstaff, Arizona, is sure to keep you warm and cozy in the winter and famously cool during the valley’s scorching summer months.
Using rental sites such as VRBO and Airbnb to book accommodations out of town can not only help save you money, but it can also help you have an authentic local experiences. I was lucky enough to find Timberloft on both AirBnB and VRBO and immediately booked a stay at what I could tell would be a fabulous property. I was right! While hotels and resorts can offer more services than most rentals, I think it’s great to vacation on your own terms without having to worry about any other guests, no middle of the night hallway parties or slamming doors, and my favorite part…being able to cook “at home!”
Built with four bedrooms and bathrooms, able to fit up to 14 people, this home away from home is ready for your whole family, some friends, and even your pets! The cabin is nicely decorated with a Flagstaff Chic vibe and spotlessly clean! You will be perfectly comfortable surrounded by granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, large HDTVs, a large fireplace, hot tub deck located high in the treetops, pool table, and many more features to ensure that this is one of the nicest places to stay in the Flagstaff area. What I really loved about the property is the openness and views from every room. With tons of windows, you truly get to embrace mountain life every minute of your stay!
We had so much room for just the two of us that we could spread out as needed- in fact, we probably could have gone the whole weekend without running in to one another and let’s be honest, anytime you can have a separate bathroom from your spouse is a good day. You know what I’m talking about ladies.
As I mentioned, the view was breathtaking and the hot tub was pristine. Speaking of the hot tub, it was the perfect place to enjoy the view of the golf course and Mount Elden!
If you know me at all you know I love to cook and what I love even more is being able to cook while on vacation. The kitchen was well-equipped…I appreciate when a kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, serving bowls, dishes, etc.! Living just a short drive from this property, it made it easy to pack an ice chest full of my favorite mountain inspired meals including all the fixings for chili, steaks, and potato corn chowder. (Let me know if you want the recipes!)
Timberloft is located just a walk away from Timberline Short Nine, par-3 course, and just a quarter mile from Continental Country Club 18-hole course. During the winter months, one can be at Arizona Snowbowl in 35 minutes, ready for a full day of skiing or snowboarding. There are also a handful of hiking and mountain bike trails in the area, making this a hotspot for all things outdoorsy. We happened to visit the week after a massive snow storm which was perfect timing because we got to enjoy the snow covered grounds without having to battle any weather. There is even a perfect hill for sledding right next to the property!
The bedrooms are decorated in warm rich tones and very inviting. I loved that the owner even provided staples such as toiletries and snacks upon our arrival to make us feel at home. The master shower has more shower heads than I can count and you know I appreciate when there’s a TV in the bathroom so I can catch up on all BRAVO shows while getting ready!
Overall, I’m so thrilled with our visit to Timberloft that I had to share it with you. While I was there I posted a bunch of pictures on Instagram and got over 40 messages from people asking for the details so I hope you enjoyed learning about this little slice of heaven located just 2 hours north of Phoenix!
