Oh hello Taco Tuesday…I mean Taco Wednesday…I mean really isn’t every day taco day? Since yesterday was national tequila day, I thought today would be a great day to share my love for Blanco Tacos and Tequila. On a recent trip to Tucson, we visited the gorgeous Blanco location at the shops at La Encantada that boasts one of the best views in town, and not just taco views- but those are pretty great too. Of course this wasn’t my first visit to Blanco, but it was my first visit to this location and my first time trying some new and unique menu items including the roasted avocado taco. The Blanco gods must have known I was coming because how can something that combines my two loves (tacos +avocados) be anything but taco perfection?
Speaking of perfection, since I’m married to the king of queso- we had to start out with the dip trio that is my all time favorite go-to happy hour item in the entire state of Arizona. I cannot possibly decide which dip is my favorite because the home made guac, spicy beans, and creamy queso are all amazing! This could actually be a meal in itself but there are so many other wonderful items, I suggest pacing yourself or sharing this extraordinary dipping experience with the table.
On this particular visit, I indulged in the hibiscus margarita which was the perfect blend of white peach, hibiscus flower, blanco tequila, and elderflower. Not to mention, it was a gorgeous shade of neon pink which made this cocktail extremely Instagram worthy. #alwaysabonus. To go along the lovely pink drink, we ordered the crab and shrimp ceviche served with a radish salad garnished with avocado and cucumber. I must say, the ceviche is light and refreshing- perfect for a warm summer evening on the patio.
When it comes to tacos, the grilled avocado taco I mentioned earlier is my #1 pick but the crispy shrimp with pickled onion, fresno chile, guacamole and the braised short rib with roasted poblano and cotija cheese. Another menu highlight is the surprisingly veggie packed quesadillas. These bad boys are perfect for sharing and come in a variety of options including red chile chicken poblano, and bbq pork and roasted corn.
Since we all know tacos and tequila are a match made in heaven, I encourage you to visit one of the Blanco locations throughout the valley. Gather your friends for an after work happy hour, book a private party, or just order a gallon of queso to go. Your taste buds will thank me!
