This past weekend we changed things up a bit and headed south. All the way to Tucson for 24 hours at the gorgeous Omni Resort located on the name sake golf course tucked away from the city. My family was greeted immediately by a staff member who got the check in process started for us and we were quickly escorted to our room featuring beautiful golf course views. I was so excited for this little escape because it truly feels like we went on a vacation! It took about 2 hours to get there from Phoenix and the drive was easy….even with an antsy 3 year old in tow.
Many of the rooms at the Tucson Omni have been renovated and are simply spectacular with a little desert chic vibe. The bed was wondrously comfortable and included feather down pillows which I personally LOVE. The travertine marble bathroom was great for our family since I love a roomy shower and our 3 year old appreciates a large tub. For being part of such a main stream hotel chain, the Tucson Omni feels more like a boutique resort as far as the room count and attention-to-detail is concerned.
There is so much to see, do and explore at the Omni Tucson that you really don’t have to leave the grounds but we did because I cannot visit Tucson without a stop at FROST Gelato- a quick drive down the street from the resort. During the day we enjoyed the pool where the vibe is half party crowd and half families with young kids. An interesting mix but somehow it works with such a large pool. Side note: the burger on the pool menu is awesome- yes, I’m still on my burger kick if you were wondering!
