Aloha, Arizona! Feeling like taking a trip to the islands, but don’t have the time/energy/budget this summer? Take a deep breath and relax, you can get a taste of the islands, right here in the middle of the desert. Coconut’s Fish Cafe serves fresh and healthy island inspired food including their world famous fish tacos at both their Scottsdale locations. The atmosphere is colorful, bright and very clean, with custom surfboard tables perfect for a casual family dinner or grab and go weekday lunch.
The Coconuts staff is friendly and eager to help if you’re not sure what you’re in the mood for. The fast casual concept is consistent in hospitality as well as in delivering what are definitely among the best fish tacos you’ll find in Arizona. I went out on the limb and ordered the newer variety of tacos stuffed with grilled shrimp, the famous coconut coleslaw, and fresh mango. Equally delicious and messy, these may be my new go-to food of the summer. We also tried the brand new Poke bowl that was almost too pretty to eat…almost.
While the tacos are definitely a star of the show here, there are other options including selections for non-seafood eaters. Everything is light and refreshing making this a great option for summer time dining.
To start your dining experience, I highly recommend the crispy Coconut Shrimp that comes with a highly addictive Thai Chile Pineapple Sauce for dipping. For the non-seafood lovers: choose from salads, tacos, grilled chicken, pasta, or burgers. They do serve beer and wine so you can truly relax and enjoy the island vibe.
The restaurant is very family-friendly which worked out perfectly since we had our little guy in tow. They have plenty of kid friendly dishes to choose from including mac and cheese and kid versions of the celebrated tacos that Coconuts is known for. Coconut’s Fish Cafe definitely has something for the whole family to love.
Check out Coconut’s Fish Cafe for yourself, and catch the aloha fever that is quickly increasing across the valley of the sun.
