STAYCATION SERIES: FOUR SEASONS SCOTTSDALE

June 6, 2018

OK so we are officially waking up to triple digit heat for the next few months which means my valley resort staycation tour is in full swing and today I’m talking all about The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North.

We checked in to The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale last weekend for an adult only 24 hours of pure luxury. If you’re not familiar with this resort, it is perched high above the city for spectacular city lights, slightly cooler temps, and is surrounded by the beautiful desert landscape of North Scottsdale.  The Four Seasons is consistently a recipient of the industry’s highest awards, and stands ready to lavish you in quintessential luxury whether it’s s trip to the pool, spa, or a 24 hour stay in one of the tranquil guest suites.

As you probably know by now, I’m a sucker for a good resort pool. Well, make that a GREAT pool here. The afternoon of our stay, the hubby and I spent almost 5 hours lounging by the pool eating the most delicious burgers and sipping on desert inspired cocktails while floating on the best pool rafts I’ve ever seen- really! This was a total highlight.  The beautiful desert oasis features a children’s splash pool (which we didn’t dare go near on this trip), a large common-area pool, and a welcomed adults-only pool to help us continue the serenity of our child-free stay. Of course I facetimed our little man 16 times because I missed him so much, but I really tried to embrace the whole “romantic getaway” things as best I could.  There were cabanas to provide shade and you will be glad to know I made friends with the Margarita Cart Man. Yes, there is a gentleman that peddles around a cart with made to order margaritas. I suggest you become his BFF and order the skinny prickly pear variety.

We wrapped up the day at PROOF Canteen, the more casual restaurant option at the property. After consuming my body weight in house made potato chips and sweet onion dip, I indulged in pretzels and cheese (of course!) and a seafood corn chowder that was made with local ingredients. Needless to say, I licked the bowl and was tempted to drink the cheese sauce but the restaurant was filling up quickly with too many eyes watching.  We did opt for the salted caramel pretzel chocolate cake and our waitress talked us into a scoop (or 2) of homemade brown butter cookie dough ice cream. The food was exceptional, the ambiance was reminiscent of a casual western canteen, and the city-light views were breathtaking as the sun started to set.

After finishing our meal, we strolled through the resort’s dimly lit pathways and made it to the signature scented lobby to enjoy an après dinner cocktail at Onyx bar. When we arrived back to our room we found it had been beautifully turned down for the night and we opted for a “still in theater” movie and early bedtime.

What a perfect day at this gorgeous resort!

If you’re looking for a wonderful staycation getaway the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is certainly prepared to pamper you and help you feel like you’ve been transported off the surface of the sun to a beautiful sanctuary in the desert.
