May 5th or better known as Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner and I have a fun option to help you get your fiesta on…did I mention it involves one of my favorite Saved by the Bell alums?!
Cinco de Mario is coming to Scottsdale for a day of live entertainment including a performance by The Sugarhill Gang, Ballet Folkorico, Cholofit Yoga, and a Saved by the Bell look alike contest hosted by A.C Slater himself. Local restaurants like El Jefe Tacos, The Mission, and Mr. Mesquite on Wheels will be there dishing up tacos and the cervesa will be flowing in the Craft Beer Cantina.
Cinco de Mario, hosted by Experience Scottsdale and City of Scottsdale, takes over Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza, adjacent to Scottsdale’s vibrant and inviting Old Town, Sat., May 5 from 11am-6pm.
The Main Stage hosted by TV host and Emmy Award winner Mario Lopez, actor and entrepreneur Danny Trejo, and comedian Frankie Quinones, will be jampacked with live entertainment including a performance the legendary hip hop group Sugarhill Gang, local bands Mariachi Rodriguez and Ritmo Latino, exciting dances by Folklorico Dancers and Flamenco Por La Vida and the Saved By The Bell Look-a-Like Contest judged by Mario. In addition to being an emcee, Frankie Quinones, whose YouTube series “Cholofit Workout” has garnered over 2 million views, will lead a hilarious Cholofit Yoga class from the stage.
Attendees can shop for Mexican gourmet goods in a farmer’s market-like setting featuring chilis, carne asada, pastor, agua frescas, raspados, elote, churros, Sonoran hot dogs, fruit, candy, piñatas and more. Plus, local vendors will be onsite to serve up traditional Mexican fare.
Guests can sample delicious craft beer, play a game of cornhole or Jenga, and take in the event from the Craft Beer Cantina or sip samples of the best rosé wine in a fun and casual environment in the Insta-worthy Rosé Wine Garden.
