When it comes to festivals, there seems to be a festival in town for all our favorite calorie free (ya right) foods like tacos, BBQ, and wine but there is a new kid on the block…the cheese block that is!
On October 7th, another longtime favored indulgence can be added to the food festival list with Arizona’s inaugural Mac & Cheese Festival taking place along the Scottsdale Waterfront from 12pm – 7pm. Not only will the maiden event feature Mac & Cheese creations from over 20 Valley restaurants- there will be local craft brews from over ten Arizona breweries to pair perfectly with your favorite childhood food. Let’s be clear, this is not your Kraft mac and cheese from a box you grew up eating. There will be a variety of traditional classics and some not so traditional varieties such as the fiery pimento Mac and Cheese from Two Brothers Brewery and Tap House. Speaking of creative mac recipes, you won’t want to miss the O.H.S.O sample of Brisket Mac, featuring house made brisket, barbecue sauce and crispy onion strings or the Mac Del Mar, an unexpected creation filled with crab, garlicky shrimp, crab, jalapeno and bacon. A word to the wise: this is not the day to start a low carb diet!
Another Festival ingredient will be the Home Chef S’Mac Down. The top three Big Cheese and Little Cheese chefs who submitted videos of their mouth-watering Mac & Cheese recipes will go head to head – or cheese to noodle – on the big stage inside the Demo Tent. Festival goers can also enjoy some friendly competition while burning off a few calories at the Big Cheese Game Deck, complete with backyard games like ping pong, bags, and Giant Jenga.
Tickets begin at $15 for entry into the Festival, with a variety of food and drink ticket packages sold separately. There are also VIP experience tickets available for $75 that includes early entry at 11am, 5 drink tickets, 15 food tickets and access to the VIP Lounge and private Royal Restrooms.
Tickets are available online HERE and tickets will be available the day of the Festival.
