If you haven’t heard, today is National Cheese Pizza Day and I hope you’re going to celebrate! In the valley of the sun we have a ton of options for pizza but there is one place in town that must be recognized on this historic day. Gino’s East uses over 1 lb. of cheese on their large cheese pizza…yes, I said an entire pound of the mozzarella. That being said, the pies at Gino’s are of the Chicago deep dish variety where the cheese is closest to the crust and the sauce is on top. Wacky but incredible I promise. For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since they opened their doors in 1966, millions of the signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas have been served to locals, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world.
Phoenix is lucky enough to have our own Gino’s located on 36th St. and Indian School. Insider tip: allow yourself plenty of time to dine here- perfection this deep cannot be rushed. Also, I highly recommend requesting Gina to serve you for a true “back East” experience. As for the food, it speaks for itself. The pies are incredible and even though today is Cheese Pizza Day, I have to give a shout out to the spicy kale Cesar salad, a MUST try! Don’t forget to sign your name on the wall and if you can find my signature along with the www.therealhousewifeofscottsdale.com in the sea of graffiti snap a pic and I’ll send you a $25 Gino’s gift card!
