The definition of devoured is: “to eat (food or prey) hungrily or quickly.” That is exactly what I plan to do at the Devoured culinary Classic, Arizona’s premier foodie event going down this weekend. If you haven’t been to Devoured before, there are a few things you should know before stepping foot into the food metropolis. First, the entire week devoted to Devoured actually started this past weekend with a lively bartending competition showcasing the valley’s finest mixologists. Throughout the week events such as Palette to Palate, Seven Chef Singh Along, and the Devour Film Screening will all culminate next week with the 2 day Culinary Classic taking place both Saturday and Sunday at Phoenix Art Museum. I remember attending this event back when it was a 1 day food fest that drew a crowd of a few hundred. Now in it’s 8th year, over 4,000 people will partake in Devoured. James Beard (the most highly respected foodie of our time) said it best: “Food I common ground for all people, a universal expierence” It’s no wonder Devoured has been awarded Best Southwestern Culinary Festival by the New York Times, Best Food Festival by Phoenix Magazine, Best Culinary Festival from the Phoenix New Times since 2012, and Best Food Event from AZCentral.com. Next weekend’s culinary classics will bring the top chefs and restaurateurs all together in one spot for guests to sample some of their post popular and tastiest dishes. How heavenly does that sound? I hope you and your taste buds join me for the tastiest event in town!
