Recently I had the privilege of sitting down for dinner with over 30 of the valley’s most prominent foodies at Coup De Tartes, a cozy French Countryside bistro in central Phoenix. Now, dining with foodies is quite the experience. First rule: nobody can take a bite of anything until everyone gets the perfect picture to upload across social media. This was particularly challenging due to the fact that every dish at Coups De Tartes looks and tastes incredible so I was anxious to dig in! Now if you’re looking for classic French cuisine, you won’t find it here. Instead Coup De Tartes offers French inspired cuisine with a modern countryside influence using the highest quality ingredients. My favorite dish of the night was charred pineapple risotto. If you know anything about cooking, making risotto is one of the most difficult culinary tasks known to man kind. Luckily, the executive chef at Coup De Tartes has it down to perfection. It’s also lucky that I was wearing pants with a high percentage of spandex in them the night I dined here. By the way, my dairy free dining philosophy was on vacation this evening- I could not pass up the crème brulee and chevre (goat cheese) bruschetta. Additional highlights include sautéed salmon with pearl couscous and decadent Peanut butter layered pie. Bring your appetite (and stretchy pants) to Coup De Tartes and be prepared to go on a flavorful journey featuring local ingredients handcrafted with love. Bon appetit!
