With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better way to start celebrating early than at the Chocolate and Wine Experience this Friday in Scottsdale? Grab your sweetie and head to the Saguaro Hotel on Friday evening to sip some of the finest wines paired perfectly with handcrafted sweets by local confection superstars. While you’re there don’t forget to try your hand (or paintbrush) at the paint with chocolate station while learning all about the chocolate making process. Enjoy live music by The Walkens and stop by the Pinspiration craft table to make a handmade cork ornament. Wine isn’t the only thing that you will be toasting at the chocolate and Wine Experience, the S’mores station is a great spot to toast the perfect marshmallow- and we all know, natural light from a fire makes you look so fab so be sure to snap a selfie here (or head to the photo booth for an event keepsake!) As much fun as eating chocolate and drinking wine is- the Scottsdale League for the Arts is a nonprofit that raises money for local arts and education programs. 100% of net proceeds go back to the community…now that is pretty SWEET!
Don’t wait to purchase your tickets.

Recently I had the privilege of sitting down for dinner with over 30 of the valley’s most prominent foodies at Coup De Tartes, a cozy French Countryside bistro in central Phoenix. Now, dining with foodies is quite the experience. First rule: nobody can take a bite of anything until everyone gets the perfect picture to upload across social media. This was particularly challenging due to the fact that every dish at Coups De Tartes looks and tastes incredible so I was anxious to dig in! Now if you’re looking for classic French cuisine, you won’t find it here. Instead Coup De Tartes offers French inspired cuisine with a modern countryside influence using the highest quality ingredients. My favorite dish of the night was charred pineapple risotto. If you know anything about cooking, making risotto is one of the most difficult culinary tasks known to man kind. Luckily, the executive chef at Coup De Tartes has it down to perfection. It’s also lucky that I was wearing pants with a high percentage of spandex in them the night I dined here. By the way, my dairy free dining philosophy was on vacation this evening- I could not pass up the crème brulee and chevre (goat cheese) bruschetta. Additional highlights include sautéed salmon with pearl couscous and decadent Peanut butter layered pie. Bring your appetite (and stretchy pants) to Coup De Tartes and be prepared to go on a flavorful journey featuring local ingredients handcrafted with love. Bon appetit!

This is a unique blog post but something that is not quite as exciting or glamorous as the events and brands I usually write about, but super important and any avenue to get the word out about the importance of estate planning is a good one. If you’re reading this, you’re likely someone with a family or someone planning on having a family someday. That’s why this is important stuff to talk about! Estate planning was a scary concept when someone asked me if we had a plan in place for our child if something were to (god forbid) happen to us. The answer was “No, we’ll get around to that someday.” The more I talked to my mom friends the more I found out how important is really is to safeguard your assets during your life. I started the research on where to begin (because, clearly this is something that doesn’t come up very often and I was CLUELESS!) Luckily, I was SO fortunate to get referred to the Mazza Law Center in Scottsdale that specializes in family law and estate planning. Danny Mazza and his team are experts when it comes to setting up the proper legal documents that protect you, your family, and your estate. Whether you’re a baller or a regular joe- you need a plan. Mazza makes the uncomfortable conversations easy and provides a sense of security throughout the whole process, which by the way is quick! One meeting and we were all set! We covered everything from where would JZ go to what happens to our house to who gets to make medical decisions if I can’t. I feel such sense of relief to know all these huge questions have been answered the way my husband and I would want them to be. It’s about an hour of your time that can make a huge difference if your family is ever faced with difficult decisions. I cannot say enough great things about the Mazza Law Firm when it comes to efficiency and knowledge. It’s no wonder why they were nominated for BEST Estate Planning Law Firm in the Valley. Not to mention, the snacks in the conference room are amazing and abundant in case you need to bring the little ones with you or your spouse starts to get HANGRY. To find out more about probate, trust administration, estate planning, and guardianship matters in the greater Phoenix and Scottsdale area visit the Mazza Law Center website below or schedule a complimentary consultation with Danny- you will be so glad you took this important step for your family.
One of my fondest childhood memories includes attending Disney on Ice whenever they came through town and I can still remember the taste of the blue slushy that was sold at the concession stand. It’s crazy to think that I’m taking my very own child to the show this month when Disney on Ice brings Words of Enchantment to Talking Stick Arena on January 19th-22nd and I can’t wait! Worlds of Enchantment brings your favorite Disney characters to life in a fun filled entertaining show performed completely on ice skates. Of course the Frozen characters will be there alongside some of the classics from my childhood including my soul sister and fellow redhead Ariel from the Little Mermaid. I think my little guy will be most dazzled by the high speed stunts from Lightning McQueen and the rest of his crew from Disney-Pixar’s CARS. Although, the dance-along pre show with Mickey Mouse might win over his heart- especially if the ever so popular hot diggity dog song is involved. If you’re looking for a fun way to entertain the family and your kids like non-stop action, make sure and grab your tickets quick- and use the coupon code below to redeem a free ticket when you purchase 3!
