You can imagine my excitement when I heard there was a new art studio in town that caters to toddlers. Rachel’s Young at Art studio offers classes for children of all ages but Rachel’s background is working with preschoolers so she shines when it comes to planning projects for the wild animals that are toddlers. Being the right brained mom that I am, I’m constantly encouraging JZ to explore his inner artist and participate in as many sensory activities as possible. Rachel’s is located near Scottsdale/Shea and they offer classes, events, parties, and camps for all ages. The art projects Rachel and her amazing mom Gail offer are age appropriate and so much fun for the parents too! My family attended the Mother’s Day tea/craft party that featured the opportunity for the kids to make a candle holder, flower pot, tea cup, beaded necklace, wall art, and a lovely hot pad complete with a decorative toddler hand print. My mommy group also attended a mommy and me art class and our kids had a blast painting on windows, rolling toy cars in paint then on paper, using stamps, decorating a lunch bag, making slime, decorating animal cut outs with melted crayons, playing dress up and enjoying a healthy group snack and story time. This place is heaven for little creative minds and what a perfect spot for a birthday party- I can’t wait until JZ is a little older and can attend one of the many camps offered!
If you have kids and live in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area you must make it a summer priority to visit Rachel’s Young at Art Studio. Come prepared to get messy, have a ton of fun, and leave with a bag full of treasures to hang on the fridge (or send to Grandma’s house for her fridge!)
