Did someone say Botox?

April 13, 2016

Botox: A word as commonly used as “sunshine” in Scottsdale. Do most people do it? Probably. Does everyone talk about it? Probably not. I don’t know what the big deal is, I’m happy to chat about Botox and tell you why I think it’s one of nature’s…ok, maybe not nature, but at least one of science’s greatest gifts. I’m 33 and I’m not trying to look 20 again. However, I am a busy mom, which means I’m constantly tired and stressed out resulting in a few extra lines around my eyes from time to time. If there is a cure to lessen these toddler induced mommy’s exhausted crows feet that takes less than 10 min, is relatively inexpensive ,and virtually pain free, sign me up.

Now you can’t just go to the closest or cheapest facility offering Botox and expect to get amazing results, you must do your research. There are a few places in town I send my friends to for various “mommy maintenance” treatments and this week I stopped by Oasis Plastic Surgery located off of Shea/96th St. for a little syringe of the good stuff. The staff at Oasis is amazing. I’ve honestly never been in a friendlier, warmer, and inviting medical practice of any kind. After discussing options and chatting about what results I was hoping for we took a few “before” photos and I chugged a huge margarita…ok, maybe the margarita part didn’t happen but they did put an ice cube on my forehead which made me think of a margarita. Then it was time for the needle.  It wasn’t bad at all! The needle is so thin and the doctor and assistant were fabulous and kept me in the loop throughout the whopping 5 min. procedure. Just like that it was done! I was good to go! It took a couple days to see the final results and I couldn’t be happier. Nobody is staring at me strangely like “Oh, you just got Botox” the only thing I heard was “You look like you had a good night of sleep!” from a lady in my pilates class. Exactly what I was going for. (Little did she know I had a terrible night and very little sleep due to my toddler battling the stomach flu!) I can’t thank the ladies and Dr. Geoghegan at Oasis Plastic Surgery for the excellent service and incredible results!

Here is my before and after.
