Easter is just around the corner and you know what that means… children in pastel outfits, competitive egg hunts, egg dye all over your furniture, sticky Peeps residue mashed in your kids hair, and a few extra pounds on your scale…What a lovely holiday! News Flash: Creating an Easter basket for your kids doesn’t always have to be jam packed with sugar, candy, and chocolate. Today I’m sharing my fun NON-CANDY Easter basket finds before these fabulous goodies get picked over in the stores and you (and your kids) are stuck with stale jelly beans from Wal Mart. Gag.
My favorite basket filler finds include a fake stone dinosaur egg you chisel through to find a toddler friendly dinosaur, an egg that hatches a cute rubber chicken overnight in a cup of water, and a paint-it-yourself bird house and “Happy Easter” sign. To create the perfect kid friendly non-candy Easter basket I visited Target, CVS, and The $.99 Store. As for the Easter egg hunt-I’m looking forward to including stickers, temporary tattoos, stamps, cinnamon and cheddar bunny crackers, dehydrated yogurt drops, mini marshmallows, and socks (they fold up nicely in plastic eggs!!) Check out my lists below for goodies I found for JZ’s basket. Happy Hunting.
