There is a workout craze coming to the US but it’s been around for over 10 years in Australia and Europe- Madonna is a fan and just look at her body! So what is HYPOXI? It’s a low impact 30 min. workout that uses vacuum compression and targets stubborn fat. Was I skeptical at first? Of course….and I’m only a few sessions in but I can tell you this, it makes you feel lean immediately and is an ideal motivator to keep a healthy lifestyle. I was not about to go out and eat a huge cheesecake after squeezing in and out of the wet suit like workout attire required to use the HYPOXI machines! They offer a few different machines depending on what body part you want to target. My favorite machine is the one where you lay down in a spa like dark quiet room and let the compression suit work it’s magic on your lower body. I do like the treadmill workout where you squeeze into a compression suit that rivals a scuba diving wet suit and keeps a close eye on your heart rate. You have a personal coach with you at all times and you can even do a 3D body scan and get an avatar of yourself-wow…that’s a scary reality check, but it shows your progress which is so motivating! I’ll give updates as I complete more sessions and try more machines but the company suggests a series of 12 treatments to start out for quick and lasting results.
