You know those gorgeous blown glass ornaments hanging in store windows that the colors look so carefully thought out and hand crafted? Well, who the hell has time to blow glass between holiday parties, cookie exchanges, and shopping so I’m going to share a fun way to create that look at home that is SO easy, even your little one(s) can assist. JZ enjoyed picking out crayon combinations and dropping the crayon pieces into the glass balls the best. All you need is a box of CRAYOLA crayons (don’t be cheap, Crayola melt the best), some clear glass ball ornaments and a hair dryer. Peel and chop the crayons into chunks and stick 4-5 crayon chunks in each ornament. With the hair dryer heat on medium-high, rotate the bulb in various directions as the crayons begin to melt. I kept mine on an oven mit while I did this. Pop the silver top back on the ornament and you’re all done. It’s really that simple! We cranked out about 25 ornaments in half an hour, it goes super fast with immediate results. The fun part was watching the color combinations come to life but the best part is the look on the grandparents faces when they open their gift and find out their 17 month old grandson was responsible for these treasures!
