If you haven’t checked out the I.D.E.A museum for littles in Mesa, you must add it to the list of fantastic toddler entertainment options. The folks behind the museum thought of all sorts of fun ways to appeal to all your child’s senses. JZ is 16 months old and he was the perfect age to bring here but there were kiddos a little younger and a little older having a ball as well. The place is basically baby proofed so you can actually socialize with people that can say more than “no” and “that”. There weren’t school age kiddos running the little ones over and JZ and his buddies were highly entertained. He did NOT want to leave. Try taking a toddler away from a giant life size light bright (remember those!?) wall with neon pegs…thank god for bribery by yogurt drop. The art studio features a different craft daily (today was painting with foam and we came home with a masterpiece) and the ever-changing exhibit offers a look into how things are made (trains, planes, etc.) There is a puppet theater, a performing stage, a magnetic gear wall, giant shapes foam pit, interactive kitchen and garden and so much more. We only had an hour to hang out but I suggest at least 2 hours to get the full experience. If you have little friends or relatives coming in town for the holidays, this is fabulous entertainment and memory making! I can’t guarantee a long nap afterwards but it’s highly likely with all the activities that are offered.
Side Note: Right now the museum is on groupon if you can snag one. Here’s an idea. Go to the IDEA Museum ASAP.
