Today I’m talking about a super fun, easy, and inexpensive sensory activity for little ones! One of my girlfriends shared this idea with me (Thanks Chrissy!) and now I’m sharing it with you. It’s so simple and costs less than a dollar (if you have food coloring at home).
Boil a few pots of water, add a few drops of food coloring, and boil pasta until it’s al dente. Voila! Rinse under cool water and you’re ready to rock and roll. I’m not going to lie, it’s messy but most fun toddler activities are. Take the colored pasta outside and let you child experiment with mixing the colors together, squishing their bare feet in it, moving it from one container to another, fishing it out of water, and throwing it all around. (If you have dogs, they are very helpful for clean up!)
Helpful tip: Sprouts sells food dye made from dried fruits and vegetables and is safe to eat! You also might want to split the batch of spaghetti in half and do this activity twice, JZ was much more into it the second time!
