How to do Disneyland as an adult in 5 hours or less.
We set out to find out just what is so magical about Disneyland when you are over the age of 11 and come to find out, it really is a spectacular experience regardless of your age. We managed to hit up the 6 most popular rides and were done by 4PM (just in time for happy hour coincidentally) without ever taking a break except those few minutes to inhale a Dole pineapple and a churro of course. Enter the fast pass. This little ticket is like winning the lottery at Disneyland- you go straight to the front of the line. We used this to our advantage on Indian Jones and Thunder Mountain (our 2 favorite rides of the day). The Haunted mansion this time of year is decorated in true Nightmare Before Christmas themed props and has a totally different feel from October through January. The Madder Horn, Star Tours, and Pirates are classic goodies of course but the actual ride durations seemed shorter than I remembered. Of course it was crowded and there were hundreds of strollers and Disney obsessed tweens that smelled like marijuana and B.O. but overall 5 hours is the perfect amount of time at Disney for two women in their 30’s. The rest of the time was spent eating sushi, drinking wine, and scouting for Real OC Housewives. Disneyland was happy but eating fresh sushi with a cocktail staring at the ocean might be the happiest place on earth. At least when you’re in Anaheim, CA for 24 hours.
