Let me tell you a little bit about a fitness gem by the name of Remedy Pilates in Scottsdale. I started practicing pilates nearly 4 years ago at Remedy and I’m still a loyal student attending 3-4 classes per week. Practicing Pilates on a mat at traditional gyms is great and all, but having the right instructor and proper equipment really shapes your body and gives you a major workout. It might look a little intimidating at first, similar to a torture mechanism but that machine will make you long, lean, and curvy in all the right places. Trust me. Maybe I like pilates because you’re laying down during many exercises and when it comes to exercising in general, anything that reminds me of taking a nap is right up my alley. (Don’t get me wrong, there is NO napping in pilates) Maybe I love it because pilates got me back to my pre baby weight a few months after giving birth. (not counting this week…refer back to the post about our Mexican vacation and the amount of guacamole and pina coladas I consumed) Or maybe it’s because the instructors at Remedy have become my friends, my little pilates family if you will. Remedy even hosted the Junior League of Phoenix ladies and is participating in a community fundraiser to help our one of their own this weekend.
