A magical place exists every other Wednesday from 8-9:30AM and again from 10-11:30AM. (During the summer it’s open twice a week!) This place is a toddler’s paradise complete with magic carpets, bounce houses, and so many toys you might think you’re at FAO Schwartz in Time Square. What is this place? Tot Town. Shiloh community church (Union Hills/32nd St) transforms their gym into a fairytale land of fun for kiddos up to preschool age. There are about 20 different carpets spread across the floor featuring a theme of toys to correspond with the carpet pattern in most cases (cars, animals, princess things, army figures, trains, etc.) and surprisingly most of the toys stay on their designated carpet. There are lots of options to crawl, climb, and ride on various obstacles including a giant purple caterpillar, a rocking musical police car, and a toddler friendly zooming race track. There are a few staff members wandering around keeping an eye on everyone but as a parent, you’re responsible for your little one-this is not a day care. It’s FREE to try your first time and $15 for the 4 month session (whether you come often or not) if you decide to join. JZ and his buddies had a blast and I was blessed with a napping 1 year old for the 50 minutes that followed our adventure to Tot Town. Just proving, this place really is magical.
